COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

Shared Expectations for Participation
Last updated: June 2026

The Kingdom of Cascadia exists as a cultural and community movement built on voluntary participation, creativity, and respect. These Community Guidelines outline the shared expectations for anyone engaging with Cascadian platforms, events, content, or community spaces.

Participation in Cascadia is optional and symbolic. These guidelines exist to support healthy interaction, not to control or police belief.

Core Principles

Cascadia values respect for people, communities, and the land. Participants are expected to engage in good faith, communicate honestly, and act with consideration for others.

Disagreement is acceptable. Harassment, intimidation, or abuse is not.

Respect for People

Participants are expected to treat others with dignity regardless of background, identity, belief, or level of involvement. Hate speech, threats, harassment, or encouragement of violence are not tolerated in Cascadian spaces.

This includes online platforms, events, comments, messages, and collaborations.

Lawful and Responsible Conduct

Cascadia does not encourage illegal activity. Participants are responsible for complying with applicable local laws and venue rules when attending events, engaging online, or collaborating on projects.

Cascadia does not intervene in legal disputes and is not responsible for individual conduct.

Harm Reduction and Safety

Some Cascadian initiatives discuss harm reduction, community safety, or social issues. These discussions are educational and community-oriented, not professional advice.

Participants should not present themselves as medical professionals, legal authorities, or enforcement agents unless they are properly licensed and acting in that capacity independently.

In emergencies, participants should contact local emergency services.

Indigenous Respect

Cascadia acknowledges Indigenous Nations as sovereign and independent. Participants are expected to engage respectfully and avoid misrepresentation, appropriation, or claims of authority over Indigenous identities or governance.

Interest in learning about or supporting Indigenous Nations does not constitute membership or affiliation.

Content and Expression

Creative expression is encouraged. However, content that promotes explicit violence, exploitation, harassment, or deliberate misinformation may be removed from Cascadian platforms.

Moderation decisions are made to protect community health, not to suppress legitimate discussion.

Commerce and Promotion

Businesses, creators, and organizers may promote offerings within Cascadian spaces when done transparently and respectfully. Spam, deceptive practices, or exploitation of community trust are not permitted.

Sales through Cascadian platforms are subject to posted policies and applicable laws.

Enforcement and Moderation

Cascadia reserves the right to remove content, restrict access, or disengage from individuals or groups who repeatedly violate these guidelines.

Moderation decisions are contextual and may evolve as the community grows.

Community Responsibility

Cascadia grows through shared responsibility. Participants are encouraged to raise concerns constructively and contribute to a culture of care rather than conflict.

Participation implies acceptance of these guidelines.
